Loss of contact

It certainly has been a time since I lasted posted here. It seems that no matter how much I try to pull myself together and get back to creating and posting, I fail. I haven't been a very good blogger, and in the past year or so, haven't been a very good creator.

Somehow along the way, life got quite out of hand. I always seemed to set myself aside in order to do for others and it really hasn't been worth the time or effort that I put into it. I have a tendency to do that, always setting myself up for major disappointment and hurt.

I recently lost my job (and if you know me, you know where that was). This has proven to be just another set back in my life that I am trying hard to over come. I am saddened and deeply hurt by this news, but I know that things will get better eventually. The part that is going to be the hardest for me is the loss of contact with people that I grew to be friends with. In some cases, I have no personal contact outside of my place of work. If you happen to be one of those people, and would like to stay in contact with me, please feel free to send me an email. lisahaas2001@yahoo.ca I really do hope that along the way we will cross paths again.

Is everyone ready for some Halloween fun? I know that I sure am! I am looking forward to all the fun projects and pages that will be getting created in the days and weeks to come. Since my kids are all grown up now, I miss the fun in gathering items for making costumes and all the decisions that go along with that. I used to love planning out with the kids what they would like to be for Halloween and watching them come up with some great ideas for creating them. We never took money for all the fancier store bought costumes. Instead it was more fun to put on our creative thinking caps and seeing what we could come up with. Not only did they look great, but we made some great memories of the fun we had doing it.

Since the time has come for all ghouls and goblins to come out for trick or treating, I thought it would be fun to share a project I have been working on in honour of this fun day! It has been quite a while since I was able to sit and just create something fun and for ME, and I was beginning to think that it might never happen again! Alas, it did, and I had so much fun with this project. I can't wait to put all the finishing touches on it, but that is going to have to wait until the photos are printed and put in.

Once I have hunted down and reprinted the photos that I want for this album, I will be adding more ribbon and more detail to each of the pages. In most cases, the photos are going to need to be adhered before I can do that!

For this project, I used the Bo Bunny Whoo-ligans line! This line is so much fun with all the dressed up kids, the fun colour combination and the fun theme. I knew that I would just have to use it for something, and glad I finally could sit down to play with it. I love the 2 sided paper and really how easy it makes it for putting together a project like this. Simple, sometimes, is best! With it being so quick and easy to do, it was a great place for me to start to getting back into 'me' creating again. It feels so good to have finished with a project so quickly and I can't wait to keep this ball rolling.

Mini albums are a great project to create for many different things. I love doing them for small events, day trips, even for gift giving. I love how quickly they can be put together and how satisfying it is to finish a great project.

Wow, time sure flies!

Well I have fallen behind with my blog, once again! It has been an extremely busy 2 months, since my last post. Finally I think I have gotten a handle on life and all things that are within it.
The summer was an extremely busy, but fun one. Lots of traveling, road trips and just plain out enjoying the beautiful weather that was upon us.

Now that the cooler weather is here, I have begun to get 'caught up' with my TO DO list!

November classes are done and at The Memory Keeper and I am looking forward to seeing who will come out and join in the fun! If you haven't stopped by the store, make sure you do! I am sure you will not be disappointed in what you see.

Now the the November classes are done and delivered to the store, I have been diligently working on the very long TO DO list I had in front of me. The past couple of days have been very productive in this way and I am looking forward to finally being caught up totally. Lots of kits have been made this week and tomorrow will be no different. On top of more of the TO DO list, I will also be prepping for tomorrow's class.

I have also been working very hard on getting my own personal scrapping back on track and had a blast with fun creating last Friday night! I did manage to get a finished 6X6 Halloween album done that is just waiting for photos to be added. I will be taking pics of this project to share with you in the next couple of days.

Now that the routine is getting back in swing and my personal scrapping has begun again, I will be making better effort to be updating my blog more often and having more fun projects to share with you too.

Schedules and Routines Back to Normal?

Well time sure is starting to fly by again, since I got home. It seems that schedules and routines are now getting back to normal, and time is of the essence. No matter how hard I try, there doesn't seem to be enough time in a day to get done with all the things that I am needing to accomplish. We won't even begin to mention the stuff that I WANT to get done!

This week I am back to prepping for classes, gearing up to get back in the full swing of things for class night, and of course, thinking ahead to October classes. Mind you, at this point, thinking is all that is happening.

Along the way, I am trying hard to get myself some creating time in (not class related) and I am inspired to the highest level, but can't find just the right papers that I feel would be best for these upcoming projects! It is horrible when you imagine a certain look in your head, and yet can't get it out. It feels as if creativity is locked within side of me, just itching to get out, and yet has been postponed!

I am driving myself crazy thinking about what I 'want', that I guess I just may have to really go outside of the box on this one. Only problem is that whatever I come up with, has to be easily duplicated 5X. Now this is going to be interesting to see how any of this will pan out for me. I have always liked a good challenge, and anyone that knows me, knows I am not capable of backing down. So onto a great journey to see if this is going to work out. I have a deadline for these projects, as well. This is going to really make it more of an interesting journey. The next month is going to be very busy, and hopefully productive in the way that I am hoping!

HOME/Reality sets in

Well holidays are over, and I am home, yet again! I can't believe how quickly summer has flown by! It seems we wait through out a very long and dragged out winter for the nice weather to arrive and stick around and then POOF...just like that it flies right by! How is that even considered to be fair?

Holidays were GREAT! Had a wonderful road trip with hubby! It was so good to finally be out of the house, spending some one on one quality time with him! We don't get to do this near often enough to suit me! The roads were certainly well traveled this week and lots of photos were taken! I will share some with you all within a few days.

Now that I am home, it is time to get back to some sort of normalcy with routine and schedules. This is the worst part of holiday wind down. Makes me wish we could just pick up and escape again...like NOW! Since this is not a possibility, it means time to get my mind wrapped around all of the things here that are calling my name. I have to tend to the laundry (after DH gets new dryer hooked up) Our dryer, unfortunately decided to die on us just before we left on our holidays. Oh well...new one was purchased and delivered and now is actually getting hooked up. This was a nice surprise when we got home! This will definitely make getting the laundry caught up nicer when I get that far (tomorrow). Have been on a cleaning frenzy today, and have been getting some things accomplished. Not as much as I would like, at this point, but we just got home last night!!!

Tomorrow will more than likely be better in the cleaning department. Today I am tired and just really not feeling all that into the whole cleaning thing! I guess I can take a day off after holidays to get that 'home mode' back! Then it will be time to kick it into full gear, schedules, routine and back to having my mind working on over load with everything that needs to get done!

Hopefully after this week is over, and life gets back to the norm, I will be able to even sit and consider getting some creativity happening. I lack motivation, inspiration and drive anymore for this. It seems that if I am not creating class things, I am not creating! I have to make this stop and put into my schedule some ME time in this area. It is my goal to get the inspiration flowing, the photos printed and then let the creativity flow! Wish me luck!!

Terrible....but changing!

Well it appears that I have been extremely terrible about keeping up with my blog. This past year has been one of many issues and I have hardly found any time for much online business. I have not done any real creating since last July and have had nothing new to share with anyone.
Life has gotten busy and there has been so much to get done just to manage on a day to day basis.

I am really hoping that in the weeks to come that things will begin to change and that I will be able to post more often. I am hoping that there will be some creating along the way as well and then I will have something to really share. In the meantime, I am going to try and get better at posting just about my daily life and somewhere along the way there should be something creative too! One can certainly hope, anyways!

I have revamped just slightly with a new look, and am hoping this will encourage me to keep up with postings! Now all I have to do is find something to post about, and perhaps even find some motivation and inspiration to get back to my crafty self! I really do miss the creative element in my life!

If you are still out there and visit my blog from time to time....Thank You! I know it has been an extremely long time, but at times life has to come first!

A New Year....a New Beginning!

Happy New Year everyone!

It is so hard to believe that we are into the 3rd day of this New Year already and I haven't posted anything on my blog yet!

Our holidays were very busy, extremely exhausting and just not a whole lot of time to relax. It was all good though and it was wonderful getting to spend some time with family throughout the week!

Everyone has been asking about my New Year's resolution, and to be honest, I don't like to make resolutions. I never seem to be able to stick with whatever I say I will do and well, then I feel like a total loser and that just makes me feel worse than I did before committing to anything. I do like to set myself some type of goals each year though.

My goals for 2011:

Get healthier and more active
Create more for myself
Enjoy some quiet time
Learn to balance things better without getting overwhelmed

These are a few at the moment and I am sure there will be more added as the month progresses and I have real time to focus on what I want to see happen this coming year! For now I think I have a good start on things and hopefully I will do well at reaching some of my goals along the way! Here's to hoping!

I am giving myself this week to get life back on track now that the holidays are over, and then LET THE CREATING COMMENCE!!!!!

It has been a really long time since I last posted here, and it was brought to my attention that I really need to post more often! I can't believe how the last part of this year got away from me and with having very little time for creating, I just haven't had a whole lot to share with you all here!

It is my goal to have more to share with you in the New Year though, as I have been busy planning out some sort of creating calendar! I am missing the time to play with all of my goodies and see what transpires in front of my eyes. I need to MAKE time for creating or I just might end up going stir crazy (no comments from the peanut gallery...you know who you are)

The holidays are getting closer and there is still so much to be done. There doesn't seem to be enough hours in a day, but I have faith I will get everything done on time. I just keep plugging along knowing that when the big day is here, I will enjoy spending time with my boys and look forward to our extended family gathering too! It will all so be well worth all the work!

For now, I will share this project with you that I will be teaching at my LSS next week. It has turned out to be a real hit with everyone and it didn't take long for class to fill up to the max! I love when that happens!

I hope you are all having some fun while getting ready for the holidays, and if I don't see/hear from you before then, please know that I am thinking of you, and that I wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Since I have been trying to sort and organize my scrap goodies, I haven't been scrapping layouts much lately. I am working hard on getting all of my stuff put away (purging will wait now until Spring).

I have made a goal for myself to get some sort of creating in at least once a week. I am finding that by the end of the week I am very tired from either doing my class projects, teaching, or all of the organizing of my goodies!

Lately, I have been playing with scraps and trying to use up some of those and in the midst, I have created some cards. It just really feels good to be creating something! I finally decided to try my hand at a tri-shutter card and this is my end result! I definitely need to be making some more of these! I just love this style!!!

Love my yard!

I so love my yard. Even with the wonderful, warm, season over, there is always so much to love in my yard. I miss all the colour of the garden, and getting out to tend to it in the sunshine, but the view can still be spectacular from time to time. This morning was a very busy one in the yard, and I just thought I would share some of my photos of this morning with you! Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

The Gold Finches frequent my yard, and altogether I have seen 3 couples feeding on my Cosmos along with plenty of babies! I love this sight!

Blue Jays are no stranger to my yard!

They have the most beautiful and striking colour and I love to listen to them as they 'warble' with happiness when the peanuts are plenty for the eating! I love to watch them sit in the lilac tree and watching them gobble up peanuts can be quite entertaining!

This little Red Headed Woodpecker is the most comically of the fine feathered friends that come and visit in my yard. Watching them eat the peanuts and sunflower seeds is delightful. They work so very hard pecking away and getting their fill. I love watching him fly into the tree and peck away at the sunflower seeds to break it open! Such a wonderful delight to see in the morning!

Mama and Papa Cardinal.....simply beautiful! They jump from branch to branch in the lilac tree making sure that it is safe to get in on the seeds! I love how papa will watch out for mama while she eats. He is never far from her at all. I love when he gets the seeds and feeds her! Such a beautiful site to see!

Now this last feathered friend was quite the surprise this morning! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this magnificent creature sitting on the top of the tree. I thought I was 'seeing' things! By the time I had grabbed my camera, he was getting ready to fly away, but I managed to capture this wonderful shot just in time! I so love nature and the joy it can bring! Even nicer when it is right in your very own backyard!

Well, I finally have had some chance to be on the computer today to get my newest creations uploaded and shared! I had a lot of fun playing and creating these fun Halloween cards. I used my Studio G stamps, flock, mini buttons, ribbon and well it was just a lot of fun to create these adorable cards for my nieces and nephews!

The above card was a lot of fun to create! I love google eyes and just couldn't resist adding so many to this 'spooky' card. I flocked the ghosts as well! This card is definitely too cute to spook!

Dracula is so much fun and the addition of the google eyes really bring him to life!

Frankie holds a special place in my heart! He is just too cute and I couldn't resist giving him the full flocked look and the different size google eyes really give him such great character! I think he may be my favourite!

Mr. Bones has been flocked white! He is pretty cute and I can't wait to give him to my nephew!

I really had a lot of fun with these, and although the designs are very simple and basic, they turned out pretty good (I think!)

Well it seems that I have been neglecting my blog the past few months, and there are some of you out there that have started to really bring it to my attention. I apologize for not having a whole lot to post on here lately, but do hope that the days and weeks to come, will show some changes.
This past Friday I actually had some time to sit and just be a little creative. I managed to get a handful of cards done (well 2 still need a couple of finishing touches). Anyways, I am hoping to get those photographed in the next couple of days and then I will have something new to share with you!

In the last couple of months, I have not been doing a whole lot of personal scrapping. Since my term as Guest Designer at Scraptures, so much has been going on in my life that has kept me from having the time to devote to my personal scrapping. I did, however do 50 pages for the page sale at The Memory Keeper. The sale had a great turn out, and all of my pages sold! I was extremely happy about that.

I also created a memorial album for my brother-in-law's funeral. Sadly we lost him suddenly to a massive heart attack on August 28, 2010. This was by far the hardest project I have ever had to work on, but my sister had requested that I did this album. My heart breaks for my sister and my 2 nieces, who are still having a difficult time dealing with their loss. No child should ever have to grow up without their parents, but together we will get through the difficult days ahead.

Since my brother-in-law's passing, I have found it very hard to find the time to devote to scrapping. I have been assisting my sister with dealing with things around the house, being there for the girls after school, and thrown in there, I am still doing my classes. I am working on trying to set one day a week aside for me to get creative, and hopefully this schedule will work out and I will have more things to share on a more regular basis. Hold tight, and keep checking back!!!

Where does the time go? Honestly....

Well it sure is hard to believe that so much time has gone by since I was last here to post! The summer has certainly been a busy one and time has gotten away from me. I am just glad to be able to find some time to do some posting and let everyone know that I am still around! Just been busy with attending CHA, and holidays.

I am going to do my best to get some posts done this week and get you all caught up on what has been going on with me, but for now, I am going to go and do some more catch up online.

Been a very LONG month!

Summer arrived, and boy has it flown by so far! I have not found any time for much on the computer this month and therefore have not updated my blog it what seems like forever!!! I am sure hoping that things can slow down soon so that I can get back on track and keep up with my posts, my creating and just keeping in touch with everyone!

Next week I am heading to CHA and am really looking forward to the journey! So many great new goodies are coming on the market and I can't wait to personally see things in person. I am hoping to be able to share some photos with everyone during the week, but if not, you can be certain that there will be lots of new posts once I arrive home.

This Bunny has HEART

Well, today is the deadline for a challenge that Shanna posted on her blog, and it was definitely a challenge that I just couldn't resist! Anyone that 'knows' me, knows how much fun I have with my punches, and this challenge was just right up my alley!
Back on June 11th, Shanna posted a punch challenge. She has asked that we use a minimum of 2 punches on a project, card or layout. In her original post she used her punches on some cards to show us how fun they can be and how they can add the perfect embellishment for our projects.

Well, I like to take punches to a whole new realm and see what can be created from them other than what they actually are. I LOVE shapes and love to be able to transform them into fun embellishments for my layouts, cards and projects. I see shapes in a whole new light and I love the creating process it brings to me.

Here are a couple of the projects that I have created to meet Shanna's challenge:

This pail would be perfect for any Easter Bunny to leave your treats in. The bunny on the front of the pail is created completely of hearts, and an oval added for the egg he is holding. The heart punches are 3 various sizes by Marvy. (small, medium and large/Jumbo) His feet are actual a folk heart from a Sizzix die.

This second project is a plaque that I made for my scrap room wall. It uses a paper shaper flower punch and the Punch Bunch fern punch. The barrel was hand cut.

I also teach classes at my LSS, and this layout was done by request of some ladies that take my classes on a regular basis. I was asked if there was anything out there to do with Backyardigans, and upon looking, found the availability for scrap booking was not there. I decided to see what I could come up with and this is the layout I created. Each of these characters were created with a variation of punches, Quickutz dies and BossKut dies. They are my very own creation and I had so much fun coming up with these. I don't have children young enough, so therefore, I have no photos to put on this layout. Papers, of course are Bo Bunny....my FAVE!!!!

The bunny on the pail and the Backyardigans are my own original design and are to only be used for personal use. I do ask that if you scrap lift these ideas, to please link back to my blog post and give credit where credit is due. I also ask that you do not use these designs for monetary purposes. Thank you.

As I sit here this morning, I reflect back on what last week held for me, and I am really hoping that this week will be a much better one. I need to clear my head, focus and learn to move forward with things, so that is on the top of my TO DO list this week!

I have lots of creating to get done this week. July classes need to be designed, I have kits to create for the LSS, kit need to get put together to put in the mail and I have some pages for another gal that need to get worked on. With so much on the go, it is time for me to refocus my energy for the positive and move forward with these things.

Clearing my head and posting some of my TO DO list here, is going to help me meet those goals.
So here is to a much better week!!!!

Now, if I could only get Mother Nature to cooperate with me, all could be good. The sky is grey and cloudy and it isn't looking too promising at the moment! I am hopeful that this weather is not going to hinder my mojo and motivation to get things done! I so need to see that list getting smaller so that I can sit back, breathe and just have some fun creating time!

Hamilton Wingfest

It is evident that festival season has begun in the Hammer, and I am loving every bit of it!!! I look forward to festival season every year and it really couldn't have started at a better time for me!Last night was the opening of Hamilton's Wingfest, and Kim Mitchell was playing. I was so jazzed up and raring to go for last night. I really was looking forward to having a great night out to have fun, and the weather was even good for it. Thankfully, Mother Nature decided to be nice, and although the clouds started to roll in, we weren't blessed with any rain at all!!!!

We headed down to the festival a little early and were able to catch a great new band from Toronto on stage. They have a pretty good sound, and they are brothers. If you get a chance you should check them out here at Fairchild. They were the band that performed right before Kim went on stage.

Just prior to Kim starting, I was standing there and I got a text. I thought it might have been my sister asking me if I was there, but it was my good friend T!!!! She was telling me to have a great time and that I did! I even called her and told her to listen, but we had a bad connection...LOL. She probably thought I had too much to drink or that I really just had rocks in my head, but I am sure she still loves me anyways!!!! After all it was a WILD PARTY and I was in ROCKLAND WONDERLAND, with PATIO LANTERNS!!!! :)

Anyways, just wanted to share some of the photos from last night's concert! It was amazing and Kim NEVER disappoints! I was just so happy to have gotten out of the house and have such a fun time as this has been a pretty frazzling week for me, and well, I just needed to relax, unwind and just think about ME for a change! It felt GREAT!!!!

Scraptures June Reveal

Well another month has begun and we have a new kit in store at Scraptures. This month the kit is Crate Paper-Brook. The texture of this paper is wonderful and the colours are so bright and cheerful and really have a great summer feel to them. Nice to see this geared to adults and not just the fun filled kid themes that are out there. I loved all of the product that was sent in this kit, and it really helped the creating process flow.

I created several projects using this kit and it was just amazing to see how much you could get done with one kit! I love it!This layout was so much fun! I loved cutting the wavy paper, which helped to resemble the breeze of the day. Although it was a hot day in Fort Erie, there was a warm breeze. I loved being able to cut this paper up and layer in an unusual way to add dimension to my page. Adding the chipboard piece and pop dotting the phrase also helped to bring even more dimension to my layout. I love to work in layers, with lots of detail to dimension.

My second project is another page using lots of layering and dimension. I used the yellow scallop card stock and cut out circles to add to make a more flowing background to the layout. The yellow was just too much, and although it really did compliment everything nicely, I just needed less of the yellow showing. Chipboard pieces, pop dots and ink also help to bring in that added dimension that I was looking for here.

Now for my last layout I cut out lots of circles from the pattern paper so that I could do lots of layering and dimensional work here. I just love to be able to take a piece of paper and get lots and lots of mileage out of it. I also cut out the flowers from a secondary pattern paper and created 2 butterflies for my page, using a button and a brad for each of their bodies. I did add some wire for antennas that was not included in the kit. Of course, I pop dotted the butterflies, as well as several of the circles. I added buttons for even more dimension and to keep with the circle feel to this layout. The combination of circles, flower butterflies and the wavy paper sliced and diced, I really like the flow showed in this layout.

Walking with Dinosaurs

Yesterday we attended the Walking with Dinosaurs show at Copps Colliseum. The show was fantastic and the dinosaurs so realistic! These gigantic creatures were made to life size and moved around the arena as if they were alive. To experience this amazing show was one that I am glad I didn't miss.

What can I say about the show? To begin with I must admit that I wasn't entirely sure what it was going to be all about. There was one man on the arena floor who was the narrator, telling us the story of the dinosaurs through the eyes of a Paleontologist. He walks around the arena, amongst the dinosaurs as he tells their story.

The narrative is very educational and yet not boring at all. There are lots of great pieces of information that take you through all 3 ages of dinosaurs, being that of Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous. As the story is told, you learn more about different species of dinosaur and what it would have been like for it to walk the earth. You learn about their size, what they ate and who their enemies were.Although I studied dinosaurs as a child, I was still very fascinated with the show. It really brought to light what life on earth before man would have been like. To see these creatures roaming the floor, brought a realization that we are lucky they do not still exist. They certainly are a fascinating creature, and to have managed to survive through the different changes the earth had taken, simply is amazing.

If you ever get the chance to see this show, I would recommend it. Children of all ages will love it!

For my example, I chose to use up some old products and a photo of me that is about 21 years old.

It felt good to use pink, as I don't get that opportunity too often. (with having 2 boys)

I was so happy to see several of the members participating this weekend and I thank each and everyone who did my challenge.

This weekend was so busy with lots of creating going on. We held the Breast Crop Ever over at Scraptures and there was so much happening, that it made for a fun time. Lots of great challenges were posted and the members really rocked the gallery with their creations.

I am so proud to have been able to be part of such a fun event that held the most important taske of supporting Breast Cancer. Cancer is such a horrible disease and we really do need to find a cure for all kinds of cancer. I have unfortunately lost too many people close to my heart from this terrible disease and I can't help but jump right on the path of anything that will support this cause.

If you haven't already, remember to please support any and all Cancer Associations. During the crop at Scraptures, Denise held a sale with 10% of all purchases going towards the Breast Cancer Association. Even if you are not a member of the boards, you can still make purchases and/or donate. Denise has extended the sale and donation to go through until June 9th. If you have ever been affected by this disease, whether or not personally diagnosed, know of someone that has been struck with this terrible disease, or just have it in your heart to support the cause, please stop by and make a donation! Every little bit helps and together we can make a difference!

Summer Shutterbug Challenge

Well it is beginning to feel like summer has already arrived here in Ontario, although it has been quite wet this past week. I have been loving the sun and warmer temperatures and getting this early taste of the summer season.

With summer comes many opportunities for photo ops and that will lead to even more creations down the road. Summer means getting outdoors more, spending quality time with family and friends and making lots of new memories.

At Scraptures, we have 3 different Shutterbug challenges on the go for the summer months. I love the idea of these challenges to help in the pursuit of new photos. One of these challenges is the Summer Shutterbug challenge. For this challenge a list of 100 different photos has been posted. We have been asked to take as many of these photos as we can, from now, until the end of August. Each one listed is just a word. We are told we can interpret them the way we see fit, and this is going to really allow us to think beyond the lense.

I have printed off the list and have already begun to take those photos. I am so looking forward to seeing how many of these I can get done, and will definitely have lots of great fun creating my pages using my new photos.

This photo was taken for #6 Nature. I love the softness of the plant life with the ladybug on the branch.

This is for #12 Floral. This yellow rose was planted in my back garden as a memorial for my Mother. Yellow roses were her favourite.

This photo was taken for #18 Made of Wood. This is a tree trunk that is in the Arboretum in Hamilton, Ontario. It reminds me of Grandmother Willow in Disney's Pochahontas.

This photo was taken for #60 Strength. This is Webster's Falls. The strength of water.....

I am so excited that I just had to post and share with everyone! On May 19th, I was picked on the Bo Bunny blog as a winner. I first heard it through my friend Chelle over on the Scraptures site, so I rushed right over to the Bo Bunny blog to check it out. I read the post there and got so excited. I really love all things Bo Bunny and being the recipient of some new product is just so sweet!

I sent off my information to Julia Sandross immediately. She is such a sweet, delightful lady who really made my Wednesday that week extra special. She had the sweetest things to say about me, and it really put a great smile on my face. Thank you so much Julia!!!

I won the Flower Child collection. What can I say about this collection? My goodness, it is so fun and fresh and just screams right out FUN IN THE SUN. I can't believe the amount of goodies that were sent to me and I am so looking forward to having some fun creating with it. How does your garden grow? Well my garden has really started to explode over the past week and the blooms are all a plenty! Today's weather was absolutely gorgeous, the sun was shining, and the temperatures were so summer like! It is time to embrace it while you can, because they are calling for rain during the first long weekend of the season. Here is a small peek into my garden, which is one of my 'other' passions!

My bearded Iris is one of the focal point in my yard and I just love the colour of these! Below are the Martha Barlow Columbine and Clematis. I just love the poofy floral heads on these Columbine. They are a tall and slender plant and they have the prettiest little blooms. The bees love these and I so love being amongst the nature in my very own backyard. The Clematis grows up a pole that is in my yard that was put there by the previous owner. They used to grow grapes, but instead of trying to remove the poll, I decided to utilize it.

My Miniature Iris look so pretty and have really multiplied over the years. I just love these for their shape and their colour. Lots of fun inspiration comes from walking through my garden. It is no wonder that I love floral patterns and beautiful fresh colours in scrapping. My chives are in bloom and I can' t wait until I can harvest it and use it in my cooking and summer salads! Nothing any better than fresh herbs when you are cooking!

Well I hope you have liked taking a small tour of my garden, and perhaps these photos can also inspire you! Hard to believe that when we bought the house there was no fence and the entire backyard was cement! It has been a lot of work, but it has so been worth it! I will try and share more photos as more things begin to bloom and I will get some over view shots as well! This is something on my TO DO list:)

Bo Bunny Prize package/Thank you Shanna!!!!

A few weeks ago I had been blog hopping and Shanna had Sticker week going on her blog. For those that don't know, Shanna is one of the very talented designer's for Bo Bunny! Her sticker designs are wonderful and during sticker week, she shared several different cards and projects using those stickers. There was so much inspiration going on, and I love some great inspiration!
Of course, you all already know how much I LOVE Bo Bunny, so I definitely had to follow Shanna's blog posts during that week!

There was a random drawing during this week for the chance at a prize. The prize was the new Bo Bunny Flower Child collection and 17 sheets of Bo Bunny stickers, designed by the very talented Shanna Vineyard! Well it was announced at the end of that week, that I was the winner! I was so excited and just couldn't believe it! Thank you Shanna so much!

My package arrived yesterday, and I just couldn't believe all the super product that was in the envelope! The Flower Child collection is so bright and cheerful and I am itching to get to create something with it. There are so many pattern papers, stickers, dimensional chipboard stickers and even rub-ons!

Now as if that prize wasn't enough, I also received 17 sheets of Bo Bunny stickers that Shanna designed! Wow...what a great prize package! These designs are so much fun and with all the great projects that Shanna posted on her blog during Sticker Week, the inspiration and ideas are already flowing! I can't wait to dive into this prize package and get some creating in!!!

Bite ME!!!

Last year DH and I spent a day in Niagara Falls, NY and while we were there we visited the Aquarium. I hadn't been there since I was a child, and it was so much fun and really brought back a lot of memories. It has changed a bit since I was last year, but it was truly an enjoyable day. Was a nice day and spending it with my honey, well that just made it all the better!

While we were at the Aquarium, we visited the shark exhibit and of course outside on the deck was this large jaw, which brought the perfect photo opportunity. We really couldn't resist being silly and letting our inner child out for just a little while. I just love these photos and new what the title would be, the minute I saw the photos. It just struck me funny, and yes, I do use this phrase often!!! It is just the perfect fit for this page, and well, it makes me giggle!

The papers are really old K & Company, Bazzill cardstock, plant life, shells, shark and fish are cut from my Cricut. I inked the shells with Tim Holtz vintage photo distress ink and added pop dots for dimension. Title lettering are American Crafts thickers that I used my 'peeks' decorative scissors to take bites out of each letter. It seemed fitting to reflect the title. I also added micro beads to the shark and fish, and of course finished them off with google eyes! Just brings these little creatures to life (some say google eyes are my signature on cute things) I also used Prima flowers with Stickles for the centres.

Well anyone who follows me here, or knows me personally, has already got to know that I LOVE Bo Bunny products, so here is another layout created using their product!

This layout was created using the Bo Bunny Kitchen Spice papers, Bo Bunny Flutter Butter flowers and buttons, Prima butterfly, bling swirls from the Dollar Giant and the title cut from my Cricut and inked with Tim Holtz Vintage photo distress ink. I am quite pleased with the way this one turned out and will be making a second page to go with this that will have the journaling on it.

Lots of little details on this layout, created by cutting out flowers from the pattern paper, adding pop dots and adding extra dimension with layered flowers, bling and buttons.

Bo Bunny has some of the best patterns and greatest colour combinations. They are so fresh and fun, and are always so inspiring and eye catching! I am really looking forward to the the lines of Bo Bunny to hit my LSS, and I have already started to visualize some new projects using these new collections. Well amongst class items, kit stuff, DT responsibilities, I have managed to get a couple of layouts created for myself. This one was based on sketch #8 at Sketchabilities. I absolutely love their sketches. They always have so much inspiration to them and although my layouts don't always look like the sketch, it is a great starting point to create with.
Here is my layout using this sketch as the inspiration and starting point. I am so pleased with the way this turned out and it will be the second page to a previous page I created. Journaling will come later and will be added using my dymo labeller in the bare spot on the bottom of this page.

This past week I have been busy with some new projects and I am happy to say that I accomplished quite a bit. May has been the first month for my participation as part of the team at Scraptures and I really have enjoyed creating with their kit this month. After getting my required layouts done in time for the reveal, I had some left overs that I just decided I needed to use.

I created this fun and quick card with tidbits from the kit, along with the Tim Holtz paint dauber.

The papers in the kit were double sided and I really liked both sides, but picked the one side for my layouts that worked best. With the left overs, I chose to use the other side for this project. I created this little purse album with very little materials. I had fun with this project and am really pleased with the way it turned out. Hope you will draw some inspiration from this and see what you, too, can create with left overs from a layout project.

Been busy

Well May is almost over and it seems that I have been so busy this month and not getting a whole lot of time to create for me. I have been very productive with getting classes designed and to the store, busy and productive with Scraptures and the May kit reveal, and working on things here and there for me. I just haven't had much to post about this month and it is hard to believe that the month is half over.

The month seems to have been zipping by quickly here. I have so many things that I would like to work on, so hoping that the next couple of weeks will allow me to find more time for personal creating! I do have a couple of new pages that are just about done and so I will be sharing those with everyone this week.

The next week is another busy one. I have prep work to do for my classes, as I am teaching both Tuesday and Thursday evenings, this week. It should be a fun time, so I am looking forward to that. It is also going to be time to try and get working on the upcoming June classes as well. I have my ideas already, so just have to sit down and start creating!

I would also like to get to work on some of the challenges that are posted at Scraptures, as there is some great inspiration there! I have a couple of ideas, but will put this on my always growing TO DO list and hope that I can find time to work on them soon.

There is so much going on and lots of things for me to think about, decisions to be made, creating to be done, lots and lots and lots! Never a dull moment that is for sure. Now that I have done some purging in my room and put stuff in the garage sale at the Memory Keeper, I also have some more organizing to do in my room. This is going to have to wait a bit though, because I really just want to get that creating time in!

Altered cd album

I have been so busy this past week, that I just haven't had a whole lot of time to post projects on my blog. I do have many different projects on the go all at once, and as I get each one done, I will be sharing them here, but in the meantime, here is my latest. It is a quick project made using old cds, like the ones you get in the junk mail.

This project is a great way to use up scraps, that I know we all have sitting around from the many other projects and layouts we have created. This would make a great gift item for just about anyone, and the look would vary depending on the types of papers and embellishments that you would use. I really love these small projects. I feel so accomplished once they are completed. I haven't added any photos to this project yet, as I am uncertain at this point if I will be using it for a gift or not. I do really like the way it all turned out though. Hope you enjoy!

Scraptures May Kit REVEAL

Well, I have to tell you that I am so very excited to now be a part of the team, as a guest, at Scraptures. May is the beginning of my term, and I got the opportunity to play with my first kit. It is absolutely beautiful, and I found it so inspiring. The product is just marvelous and the ideas just kept flooding my head.
For the month of May, the kit included the most gorgeous papers and products from Pink Paislee! I just LOVE this product. The BayberryCottage collection has the most beautiful papers with a unique colour combination that is stunning. I am not a green girl, but I honestly love the way that this all works so well together. The patterns are stunning and I got great inspiration from everything.

Last weekend was National Scrapbook Day (on Saturday), and I had a very busy day. I was fortunate enough to have the day to create and have fun and participate in some great challenges!
I got to hang out at Scraptures, with the fun gals there, and there was lots of creating and chatter going on for the day! I even managed to get some things accomplished!

One of the challenges was to take a sketch and make 4 cards from it, simply by turning the sketch.The other specification was that each card had to be for a different occasion. For these cards I was able to use up different scraps from Bo Bunny, 3Bugsinarug and even some really old Basic Grey. I love that I can get things accomplished from my scrap bucket, as I don't throw anything away! It is all just so pretty, and I know that there is always something that can be done with it down the road.

Another challenge was to use a photo that was shared for inspiration. The photo was of a multi-coloured sock. I loved the colours, and this is what I came up with: For this project I used toilet paper rolls and created this fun little Valentine type booklet. I used the Bo Bunny Love Bandit papers for this project, which were just perfect! On one of the sheets of paper, there are actually Valentines. They were the perfect size to fit inside each of the toilet paper rolls. I added ribbon to each one to make it easier to pull it out! I love the finished result here! Too cute!

Then there was a layout sketch challenge and I turned the layout so that it would work with my photos. For this layout I was able to pull out some really old Basic Grey papers that have been sitting around for quite some time. It is a pretty simplistic layout, but I am happy with this one, as well.
As usual, I didn't get as much done as I would have liked, but that is nothing new. There is never enough time in my days to get all of the projects and ideas done that are always swimming around in my head.

Since the new month has begun, I have been swamped with creating and not finding a whole lot of time for posting here on my blog, but hopefully that will all settle down very soon. Lots of life things happening, scrappy things happening, and well, I just have to find the balance!

This past week has certainly been a busy one. I have so much on my TO DO list, and I have been working hard at getting things done. It seems with each and every thing that I get done on my list, there is something else being added to that list. I guess that it seems there will always be something to get done, but that is certainly better than having so much time on my hands that I would be bored.

There are challenges to be done, classes to prep for, classes to design (yes, I am already thinking of what to do in June), Scraptures DT stuff to be done, and oh yes, of course, thinking of National Scrapbook Day too!

This Saturday, as many of you already know, is National Scrapbook Day. At Scraptures, it will be my first official day as a member of their team, and we are having a Members Choice Day. It should be a lot of fun and I am really looking forward to seeing what our members will have in store for all of us! I am also hoping that I will have a couple things to offer to help make the day fun, but I still have my thinking cap on for that! With the crowd of girls over there, I am sure the day will be full of fun stuff and lots of great creations!

There is also a lot of NSD stuff happening all over the net, so I am sure there will be no lack of inspiration floating around. I am hoping to be able to spend the day in my room, creating away and having fun! There is suppose to be rain here on Saturday, so that shouldn't be a problem. I have layouts in my head, cards that need to be created, and a couple of mini albums I am looking forward to getting planned and started. We shall see how much time is available for the actual creating, but I am positive that there will definitely be some new things to share by the days end.

Love me some Bo Bunny Inspiration

Anyone that knows me, knows how much I love Bo Bunny products and I love visiting their blog for all the wonderful inspiration that the team creates! This past Friday, they had posted on their blog, Layout Challenge Friday. When I saw this sketch, I just knew that I would have to try and play with it and see what I could come up with! They posted this sketch for inspiration and have asked us to play along and share our creations with them. Of course, I love a good challenge, and therefore got working on this immediately.

For my layout I used the Bo Bunny Flutter Butter papers, rub-ons, stickers and buttons and bling. I did a lot of slicing of the original pattern papers to get the most out of it. I didn't have the flowers that went with this collection, and therefore I cut them out from the pattern papers and pop dotted them on my layout for added dimension. My inspiration for this layout came from the quote on the Bo Bunny sticker: Whatever you are, be a good one!

I used this photo of me, that was taken at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Niagara Falls, Ontario in 2007. We frequently visit there and my husband thought that I needed to scrap more photos of me. So here we have it, another layout of me for our albums.
In addition to my Bo Bunny products I used bling swirls from Dollar Giant, Bazzill Cardstock and American Crafts Thickers for my title.

April Project 12/Buddy Guy

As many of you know, I have been playing along with the gals over at Scrapbook & Cards Today, with their Project 12 program. This sketch was designed by Becky Fleck for the April Project 12 and was absolutely perfect for the photos from the Buddy Guy concert I attended on April 8, 2010.

I love participating in this project and have chosen to do it based on concerts that I have been to this year! It is a great project and is going to really help me get this album done. I can't wait to have this finished album at the end of the year!

Now I will have to patiently wait for May to arrive so that I can get my photos for the May Project 12 sketch. Stay tuned!

Organizing and purging

Spring has arrived and with Spring, comes cleaning! Spring cleaning is something that happens every year at my house (sometimes even twice), and my scrap room is no different. As I get into my room more often to create just for me, I have found that I need to purge and organize everything again. It truly seems that it is a never ending story, but that is what happens in a world where there are so many goodies to temp us and we fall weak in the knees over all of the new fun stuff that comes out. With CHA being held twice a year, it is so hard to keep up with things and that just means twice as much trouble when trying to store everything!

Although I have gotten a good start on things, it is a very long process. There is so much in my little room, that I don't want to leave any nook or cranny unturned. One of the biggest jobs for me is card stock and pattern paper. I decided that it was time to tackle the card stock first, so that I could find out what colours I was in need of and see what I already had at a glimpse.

My file box is the perfect place for card stock. It allows me to have everything divided into folders by colour families, and then indivdually by colour tones. It is amazing how much of certain colours we find we have, once we start to sort it all out! I can't even move the folders in the drawer, so I know that I had better get a good move on things and get some of those projects created that are in my head.

Next I will have to tackle the pattern paper, but in order to do that I need a good couple of days. Right now, there is too much creating to be done, and I don't want to take the time to sort more paper. This is an on going project for me, so stay tuned in the weeks to come to see what progress I have made! Hopefully along the way I will get some purging done as well, and find a little extra room. (if there is such a thing)

Where does the time go?

Well, as some of you may have known, my oldest son turned 25 yesterday. I honestly can't believe that so much time has passed by and that my boy is, well, no longer a boy!! He has grown up to be a fine young man with lots of desire and drive and some days I wonder where all of his imagination and energy comes from. He always has some kind of project on the go and he always manages to keep smiling and having fun through it all. I miss my little boy, but I am certainly enjoying my time with him as an adult.

I didn't get as much scrappy time in as I would have liked to this weekend, but I am hoping that this week will be a good creative week. I have so many things that I need to do and it seems that since the nice weather hit, it is getting harder to find good creative time. We shall see how the week goes, but I am sure I will get some things accomplished.

I have been working on the Project 12 challenge from Scrapbook and Cards Today and last week I managed to get my March layout done. When I started out working on this project, I was uncertain as to what I would do. I then decided that doing this project would be a great way for me to get concert photos done and stay current this year with those events. I find concert photos harder to work on, and this project is helping me get my pages done, and I am so pleased with my pages so far. For the past 3 years, we have practically been going to a concert a month (sometimes more) and working with these sketches have really given me the inspiration that I have needed to go back and start scrapping past concerts as well. Once this year is over and my 2010 concert album is completed, I will definitely be using this format for past years as well.

I have also finished my April Project 12 layout, but will be sharing that tomorrow once I get a good photo of it! Stay tuned!

Now this coming week I will be feeling a bit overwhelmed as I prepare for my Guest Design Team spot at Scraptures. Although I am very excited about taking on this position, I am testing the waters a bit to see how well I can balance everything that I have going on. I am really looking forward to the arrival of my first package of goodies to play with, and can't wait to dig in and start the creative process.

I also have a class this coming Thursday at The Memory Keeper that I have to prepare for. This is a fairly large class, so I already know what I will be doing on Wednesday evening. I am also looking forward to what is coming up in the month of May for classes, and hope to see a good turn out of gals. The first part of this year really has been extremely busy in classes, but it has been great fun! I hope that things will stay busy now that the weather is getting nicer.
I have some ideas already for what is going to be coming along in June, so have to start putting those plans into motion and get my papers picked and start creating those pages as well.

So life is busy, there is lots of creating to be done, now lets see how much time I can find to get all that creativity out on papers.

Imaginisce and Tombow

In March, Tombow and Imaginisce teamed up for a great week of creative inspiration on both of their blogs. On March 29, 2010, I received an email from Joanna Wallace @Tombow that I had been selected as a winner from their blog for a prize package from Imaginisce. I was so excited and have been waiting with great anticipation for my package to arrive.

Well, today was the day! OMG, let me just tell you that it always feels to good to get a package in the mail, but this package is extraordinary, to say the least. My package contains so many goodies and all of it from the Imaginisce To Love and Cherish collection. This stuff looks beautiful online, but it doesn't compare to actually seeing it first hand. This set is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! It is a stunning black and white collection with such a classy feel to it. The flowers are beautiful and some have patterns on them, the ribbon is elegant, the rub-ons have the most beautiful scroll writing on them and the stickers have such class appeal! Then there are the stamps!!! They have such a WOW factor to them and although they are simple designs, I can see them being used in so many ways, with so many colours!!! There are flowers, journal blocks and my favourite, the scroll work!

I can't wait to get creating with this stunning collection and have truly been inspired by the Design Team on the Imaginisce blog. They always do such beautiful work! Thanks ladies!

Imaginisce Blog April Sketch Challenge

When I saw this sketch posted on the Imaginisce blog, I was so inspired! I have been trying hard to use up some older supplies, and this was the perfect opportunity for me to participate in this month's challenge on their blog and use up some of my Twitterpated Collection.
In order to make the sketch work for me, I had to turn it, but I am really pleased with the end result. I left off the title though, because I just couldn't think of anything!

I love the Twitterpated Collection. The colours are so much fun and the patterns are great. I just love the little critters from this collection.

Guest Design Team

In the past two years, I have let my scrapping take a back seat and I have been putting my efforts into teaching my classes, making kits, and scrapping for others. This year, I had decided that it was time to take back 'the hobby' and get doing it for fun again. It was my goal to set at least one day aside a month for personal scrapping and for just working on projects that I have wanted to do for a long time. Of course, that meant revamping my scrap room and organizing everything, which all happened back in January. Once that was done, I just knew I had to keep to my goal and get to working on projects for me, and to have a reason to really come in here to update my blog (which also lapsed, big time)

Now back the end of January, I joined Scraptures, an online community that has a message board, gallery and an online store. What makes Scraptures different is that it is a KIT CLUB. Denise, the owner of the site, puts together kits each month which are pretty awesome. There are so many goodies in there and the best part is that everything coordinates. You really should come and check it out. Now you don't have to be a member of the kit club in order to register on the boards and the gallery. There is so much to be offered on this site, and since it is smaller, you get to know the friendly gals there and participate in the wonderful challenges they offer. You may even find that you could win a prize. There is lots of great inspiration, and if you need a little support to get some of your own personal scrapping done, come on by and join the boards. In honour of Spring's arrival

It has been so beautiful this week, with the sun shining and the temperatures in the double digits and I can't help but think of flowers. I think of flowers in my garden, flowers on my cards and flowers on my layouts.

Now so many times when talking with fellow scrapper's I find out how many only use flowers on girl pages. I, for one, only have boys, but I still love flowers. I don't have any problem using flowers on boy/men pages, and have even been able to use softer, pastel type colours too. I don't think that there is anything wrong with it, and I don't really understand why in this day and age, we still have gender specific colours and items. It just doesn't seem proper, to me. I guess that is what makes us all different, and make us who we are.

I thought that I would share a couple of the layouts I have done in the past that I have used softer colours on and flowers too. I hope that these will inspire you to step out of your comfort zone and try something a little different. Use those soft papers and flowers and let your imagination go. You just may like your end result! Enjoy!

Look what's popping up

Well the weather is absolutely beautiful and the sun is shining and my garden is quite happy about that. I love this time of year, when the birds are singing, busy making their nests, squirrels are scampering through the yard, and the flowers are popping up all over the place. It is a nice time to reflect about all of the new and wonderful things the new year holds in store for us.

Today has been catch up day. I have been playing catch up with things around the house and the laundry. Will be doing some yard work later this afternoon, and I also need to get started on my May classes. Hopefully something will transpire and the ideas will start flowing once I get going.
The sun is shining, and it is making it hard to stay indoors and not want to get out in the yard, but patience is a virtue. Later on, I will get out there!

Bo Bunny and Prima and Imaginisce

Well, my header for today's post really says it all! I love all of these companies on their own, and when creating, it is so easy to mix the bunch together. I just love the colour palette that Bo Bunny comes up with for their paper collections, the flowers and bling that Prima makes and what isn't there to love about Imaginisce?!

I love colour, I love florals, I love all things that sparkle and creating this layout, well, it has it all! I am so happy with the way that this one turned out! The colours are so fresh and fit this photo perfectly. The Prima and Imaginisce flowers were the perfect colour palette to add to this layout and I am really happy with the end result.

I used a lot of Prima flowers and bling on this layout, along with some Imaginisce Bling flowers. Lots of layering, and border punches (both Martha Stewart) and of course Bo Bunny pattern papers.

Today's creation

This layout was actually started last night, but I managed to finish it up tonight! This is so out of my comfort zone, but I am so pleased with the way this turned out. The colours are actually perfect for these photos.

At Scraptures, T, challenged us all to use a colour that we have a hard time using in scrapping and to also use eyelets on the page. Now, I don't really have a problem using any colour while scrapping, but GREEN is definitely my least favourite colour. If you read my post about my organizing my cardstock, you will have already known that. I also am not a big fan on NEON colours, so that is how I chose what I would base this layout on. I like to step out of the comfort zone from time to time, and this challenge was just perfect for this. Thanks T!

On this layout I used Bazzill cardstock, Daisy D pattern paper and monogram, Bazzill Scallop Edge Cardstock, Fiskars circle punch, EK Success flower punch, eyelets, Heidi Swapp ghost shape letters and flowers. (the colour was not quite right for this layout, so I altered them using Tim Holtz Cranberry Alcohol Ink) "pretty" is AC Thickers

Things are looking up

Well today is going to be a good day, and all I can say, is it is about time! The sun is shining, and the air is crisp, but it is a NO headache day, for me!

I have already had a productive day, so far. I have been busy cleaning through the house, getting some laundry done and soon will be off to the dentist for a cleaning. (to me, this is a good thing)
Then it will be off to Michael's and perhaps the LSS, as well. I am hoping to get a revolving organizer for my scrap room from Michael's, but we shall see if they have any in stock!

Then it will be home, do the dinner thing and with some luck it will be time to hit the scrap room for some creating. I have a layout on the go there, that I started last night and I just can't wait to see it finished. It is so out of my league different, but so far it has been fun doing it. I will share the final result with you, once it is done!

I did do a card yesterday, which I am quite pleased with. I used more of my scraps and Denise's Finally Friday challenge to help me get this one done.

I used Creative Imaginations Gin-X papers, Sakura white souffle pen, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Colorbok black cat's eye ink to create this card.

I always loved this collection of papers, and I am so glad that I was able to use up some scraps.

Birthday Cards

Well, as always there are some great challenges happening over at Scraptures, and I am definitely falling behind with them, but I did manage to get a couple of cards made.

One of the challenges was to make a masculine birthday card. Ellen posted her card with the inspiration of using buttons and ribbon for her card. The idea was to get us all thinking of doing cards without too much bling for the men in our lives. So many of use struggle with the masculine side of things, as in most cases, there is more for feminine projects, than for men.

For my card I used up some very old Basic Grey and Flair paper and some chipboard stars by Little Davis Designs. This is just a very simple, but effective card.

This second card was done to meet one of Wendy's challenges this month. Her challenge was to get a card done that we HAD to get done. For this challenge, I decided to create an easel card, for my Mother-in-law's birthday. I used old Sassafrass lass papers, Martha Stewart border punch. EK Success scalloped circle punches, EK Success leaf punch, Chatterbox ribbon, Stickles (waterfall) and a button that I had in my stash.

Thanks to both Ellen and Wendy for these fabulous challenges and getting me more active in card making!!! It is such a great way to use up scraps, and anyone that knows me, knows I have tons of them to use!!!

Altered Art

Do you like to alter items? Have you ever looked at something and thought that you could do something pretty cool with that?

I love to alter things and find that I look at EVERYTHING with a different perspective. I love thinking outside the box and changing an item to freshen it up. I love seeing something new, in something that may be old or seem to be a piece of junk. I just love to create and there isn't anything that I wouldn't try at least once, I don't think.
Altered items make for some quick and easy projects and they make for great gifts. It is a great way to personalize an item and let your imagination flow. The possibilities are endless and only limited by your imagination.
It could be something as simple as a composition book, a paint can, a wooden box or even an empty box. The fun part is seeing what you can do with the item and with all of the wonderful papers on the market, you could alter the piece to fit any decor, or suit any personality.

Lousy weather, sunny friendships

Well, the weather here has been quite lousy, and of course this means migraines for me! The past couple of days has not been enjoyable, but I am trying to still be productive. Since my head has been hurting so badly, and Advil will numb the pain for a small window of time, I have still been trying to get some things done that needed to be tended to. Creating is on the back burner for now, but tonight I did start the major task of sorting through card stock and getting my file cabinet in order. It has been going well, and I now can see what colours I have an abundance of and which ones I am lacking. It is funny too, because the one colour that is my least favourite is the one that I seem to have the most of. GREEN!!! There are so many different tones of green, from the lightest to the darkest and everything in between! It is unbelievable, and right now I can just hear Laura giggling at me. (so because I know you are reading this.....STOP IT!)

The task will wait until tomorrow now to be finished, but at least I got a good start on things. I feel good about the progress, but will feel much better once it is completed! Hopefully tomorrow will be a better weather day and I can get it done. I am so itching to get some creating in, and I know that with having all of my card stock organized better, I will be able to be more productive in the creating department. There are challenges to be met, photos to be printed, papers to be used, and I can't wait to feel better.
During this time, I have also been able to spend sometime chatting online with old friends and new friends alike. This always helps to make me feel a bit better and I am so grateful for my online friends. I love to meet new people and get to know them better, and tonight I had the great fun of chatting with my new friend T, from Scraptures. She is always a delight to chat with and I love that she likes to ask questions. She thinks she is being nosey, but to me, it just tells me that she is interested enough in trying to get to know me better and to develop the friendship that I believe we have started. T is also a very positive natured gal, and I LOVE her overall attitude on life. She is truly an inspiration in scrapping and every day living. Thanks T!

I also chatted with my friend, Peggy who is going through a rough time right now. Her poor puppy Daisy is sick and it has hit her heart very hard. It isn't looking good for Daisy right now, but I will be keeping her in my thoughts and prayers. My heart is aching for my friend and I wish that I lived closer so that I could be there with her while she goes through all of this.

So, as much as the weather has been crappy, friendships have been sunny and warm! I am just glad that there is some sort of balance here. Friendships always warm my heart and make even the gloomiest of days a little brighter!

Post It Note Holder

Well, I have been looking for different projects that will help me use up scraps and this project is PERFECT! It doesn't take much to do this, and it looks awesome! Very functional and will help me keep all my notes in order when I jot down things in the midst of my scrapping!

I am going to be making more of these, as I think they will make a great addition to my Christmas baskets this year!!!

Not much scrapping time for me probably this weekend, but at least I got this done! Will be doing my best to have something else to share soon!

Well, T, has been at it again! This week she has us taking pictures from the kitchen!

Spring's arrival

Well, today's weather is absolutely perfect, with the sun shining bright! The air is a bit cool, but the sun feels warm and the rest of this week is suppose to be gorgeous! I took the opportunity today to get out in the yard and start with the major clean up that is needed, so that all the new growth can breathe and flourish. Everything is popping out of the ground already, and there are even some blooms out there. Such a nice start to the season, and it can only getting better from here on in.
Recently at Scraptures, T has started a Shutterbug Challenge, and although I missed getting mine done last week, when she posted it, I did it today! I figure I had better get better at doing this, as she has already posted another one for this week. The challenge was to take a photo from a bird's eye view. So after being out in the yard and looking down at the beautiful flowers, I

Well, as promised, I am back to share the fruits of my labour, from my weekend. My DH had to work on Saturday and so after getting some household stuff taken care of, I headed up to the scrap room and got creative. The sun was shining and I felt good, and the inspiration set in. It has been my goal to use up lots of the old supplies that I have sitting around my room, most of all is paper. Some of these papers are at least 4 years old, so it felt great to use them on layouts. It has been great pulling out all the papers and seeing where the creativity will take me. Lots and lots of embellishments are getting used as well, and I am actually making room for some new stuff! Hopefully soon I will be able to look at all the newest goodies that have been coming out and not have to feel guilty because I want to make a purchase!

FANTASTIC Monday

Well, Mondays are usually up in the air as to how they may go, but today started off with a bit of cloud cover and just kept getting better and better! The sun came out (bonus-no headache), and I have been able to be quite productive today! I have been busy putting together kits for our LSS, prepping for my class that I am teaching tomorrow night, and putting some finishing touches on a few layouts that I was working on over the weekend! Busy day so far, and it doesn't seem to be stopping any time soon!
Got a phone call today that prompted me to turn on my computer and send off an email, and boy, am I ever glad about that! I hadn't intended on getting on the computer until I had gotten all of my 'work' done for the day, because as we all know, it is too easy to get lost in computer land!
While I was in email, sending off what was needed of me, I decided that there would be no harm in checking emails to see if anything needed my immediate attention! Well, I received an email from Joanne Wallace over at Tombow telling me that I had been picked as a WINNER on their blog! What a fantastic day!!! Thank you so much! This really made my day and I just had to share my good news with everyone! Well, back to work, but will be posting again later! I have some new layouts that I want to share!!

Explosion album

Last weekend, Laurie hosted a Scrap-Hour over at Scraptures, and I must tell you, this is one fun project! If you are in need of a quick and easy last minute gift, this is the project for you! It takes very little materials, and isn't very involved, therefore you can get one done in next to no time at all. It is a great way to use up left over pattern papers and embellishments from other projects. Just let your imagination go and you will see that you will be creating these with so many different themes.

I have made these in the past, but slightly different.The ones I made were 3 tier and more involved. This one is so simple, and I know that I will be making many of these in the coming weeks. I have several birthdays coming up, all within a couple of weeks of one another, and this will be the easiest way for me to be able to give everyone a gift!

This project would be good for a baby shower, a teacher's gift, and you can even add a gift card inside. The one that Laurie did for her son's teacher had a triangle pocket in it for the gift card. Because I am keeping this one, I did not add the pocket or gift card.

Colouring

It seems that there is a really big trend in colouring these days, and Copic Markers are the item of choice to use. Since I don't own any of the Copics, and am not in any way, what I would call a stamper, I have not taken the plunge in investing in these markers. I have seen them being used, and they are very tempting, but getting into those, would mean another major expense of supplies, that I just can't justify at this point and time.
I do like to dabble in colouring from time to time though, and I usually use versamark and chalks, or my chalk pencils, which I really like! Since chalks is one of the first colouring agents that I purchased for my scrapping hobby, I am quite familiar with them and use them quite a bit for different things. They are very versatile and last a really long time.

Over at Scraptures, Ellen posted a challenge about colouring. She wanted everyone to get out their colouring medium of choice (she suggested inks and blender pens), and colour. I wanted to meet this challenge, but without these items on hand, I went to the next best thing, MY CHALKS!

I really love this little hedgehog stamp and simply can't wait to colour more of these and make some more cards. He is just so adorable and could be used on any kind of card, whether it be a Birthday greeting, a Thank you card, or just simply a Hello card.

Childhood

As scrap bookers, we very often over look preserving our own memories, especially those of our childhood. Many of us, don't like to get in front of the camera now, as adults, and seldom do we stop to think to scrap our childhood photos. It is funny when you think about it though, as our hobby is all about preserving memories, so that our future generations will know what was going on in our photos. Yet, we shutter away from being in those photos or telling OUR story in our albums.

I don't really understand why that is, but it is something that really should be rethought and changed before it is too late and our grandchildren are sitting there asking the same types of questions that we may find, we are asking about our Grandparents now.
Recently, at Scraptures, it has been brought up whether or not we have an album, a mini book or anything with our childhood photos scrapped. Many of the ladies, answered no to this very question. In some cases, it is perhaps because they are not sure how to scrap those photos, perhaps the parents still have them, or even perhaps they don't see the reason for it.

I decided that since the topic was brought up, that I would share some older layouts that I did, in hopes of inspiring others out there to remember to scrap their childhood memories. I don't really have many photos of me as a child, but felt that I should preserve them. I have many memories and in some cases those memories are written down, without photos.

The big questions that we all should sit back and ask ourselves are:

Do we want to be remembered?
Do we really want our Great Grandchildren to know who we were?
Do we think it should be a guessing game?
We have the power, deep within us, to make a change in what happens in our future. I, for one, wish I had the opportunity to sit with my Grandmother and ask her questions about her family, about herself, and about the people in the photos that she left behind. I don't want to see my grandchildren or great grandchildren to have to wish for this opportunity. I want them to be able to sit back, look at the photos, and KNOW who those faces belong to, and what kind of life those people had, including myself.

Well today was a much better day than yesterday was, and for this I am truly thankful. No headache and that meant I was able to get lots of things accomplished. It felt good to get back on top of every day life stuff, and to get finished up with my April Classes. Now I just have to get them delivered to the LSS and all will be perfect! It really was not fun being out of commission for 2 days, but today has been productive so far.

I finished the classes, put some kits together, and now need to deliver them. Once that is done, I am hoping to get home to some much 'wanted' personal creating! I have some ideas floating around in my brain that are just itching to get out, shall we say, on paper! I hope my evening goes as planned and then I will have something new to share with you a little later on.

Not much fun

Well it is another gray, dull, dreary, rainy day and the killer headache is NOT letting up at all. I had hoped today would fair better than yesterday, but no such luck. I need to be finishing up with some April classes but my creative edge has left the building. I can not function well enough to get the finishing touches done, so have decided that it is best to leave it until tomorrow.

The sun is suppose to be upon us starting tomorrow and be here for the next few days, so I will just have to have faith, and then let those creative juices start to overflow! There is so much that I have wanted to do, so there is NO worries about the ideas being there.

Hopefully I will then have some new stuff to share with everyone soon. Keep your fingers crossed for me that the sun will, indeed, shine soon!

Busy day!

Well, the weather is damp, and not much sun is to be had here at all. After being spoiled with above average temperatures last week, this is really dreadful. I know that Spring has 'officially' arrived, but it certainly doesn't feel like it today.

I am diligently trying to get my April classes done and out of the way, and I have this killer headache. If the weather would only co-operate with me, then all would be great in my world! We know that isn't going to happen for a few more days though, so I just have to deal with things and move forward. I am almost done with classes, so I shouldn't really complain too loudly!
With Spring's arrival, comes Spring Cleaning! Don't you just love it? There is always so much to be done and when the weather is warm and sunny, I don't want to be stuck indoors. I started with the cleaning back in January, by sorting through drawers and purging closets, and lots of stuff went out for donation. This was a great jump start on things and this past weekend, I did the kitchen. That was a full job in its self with hauling everything out of the cabinets, washing the shelves and then putting everything back. It is so much better out there and who would have thought, there is actually some extra space in the cabinets.
Next is going to be the scrap room. Although I just did a revamp of things, I have come the vast conclusion that it is time for me to do a major purge. In the past couple of months, I have been doing personal creating again, and have come across quite a bit of stuff that just isn't grabbing my attention to be used, and I could really use the space for those things I will use down the road. It has come that I have spread some of my stuff into the upstairs hallway, just to get it out from under foot while working in my room, so something has got to give!!! I will be happy once this work is done. I am hoping to be able to get started with it tomorrow before heading out to teach class at the LSS.
This past weekend, I also started a project that was part of the SCRAP-HOUR over at Scraptures that Laurie hosted. It was a lot of fun, and I just know that I will be making more as time goes by. This project will make for some great gift items, and they are quick and easy to make. I will be sharing my project in my next post, so stay tuned to see!

My Beautiful Girl!

Anyone who truly knows me, knows how much my cat and I are as one! She is truly my baby and was a blessing in disguise when she came to me. I love her truly and it is just like having an infant in the house again! She is my 'regular' scrapping
companion, and I just had to create this layout all about her. It reflects her beauty and allowed me to 'play'
with a couple of different products, which is also helping me use up old supplies that I have sitting here!

I made these flowers (the 2 larger ones) using my scallop circle punches and inking the edges. The lighter one is just a scrunched flower and the darker one is sliced where each scallop joins and then folded for dimension. I inked the edges, added Prima flowers and jeweled brads to the centres and I love the way they turned out!

I also added some other Prima flowers to the page with jewel brads for the centres. The chipboard I used Aqua Stickles on Fancy Pants Chipboard Swirls, and the title letters are American Crafts Thickers. Around the photo I did pleating and the border strip was done using a Martha Stewart border punch. I just love that I was able to use so many of my products on this layout and am quite pleased with the end result!

Spring is finally arriving!

Well it is hard to believe that 2 weeks has passed since I last posted to my blog. Time certainly has a way of getting away from us and with Spring arriving (finally), more sunshine is upon us, days are now getting longer, and I tend to spend more time outdoors! There is so much to be done outside to prepare for the beautiful season ahead of us, and that is partly to blame for my lack of getting here!This time of year has so much going for it and I love to get out in the yard and be closer to nature! Look at what I found out there today:
Now with the sun shining more, the birds are singing, the flowers are sprouting, and this means good things are in store! I love this time of year!

I have been scrapping over the past couple of weeks still, although the past week, not as much as I would have liked. I have been doing some challenges along the way and this has really helped to get me more motivated with my personal scrapping again! We all know how I love a good challenge and for some reason, just can't seem to back down from them. I am pleased to announce that I have already surpassed what I have accomplished in personal pages in the past 2 years, in just over a month. It feels fantastic!

Sunny day

Well the day is sunny and bright here today, and I am absolutely LOVING it! Spring is on it's way and it couldn't get here soon enough to please me! Although we really haven't had a whole lot of snow this winter, I am so ready for the longer, sunnier days to be the norm! I am itching to get out and spend more time outdoors, working in the garden and getting out for more frequent walks. It will mean a new beginning to the year for me, for being more productive and more energized. I have been off to a great start in the creating department, but am really looking forward to being more successful in other areas of my life, as well.

I have slowly gotten back on track with eating healthier, allowing myself ME time and balancing work creating and personal creating! This new year is the year I start to take back all things important to me and am so grateful that I have family and friends to help support those decisions.

Today is a 'work' day and I am off to teach class at the The Memory Keeper and it should be a lot of fun! Take a look at what we will be 'playing' with tonight:

Feels good to be creative!

Well since the beginning of February, I seem to be on a real roll with my personal scrapping again! I have been having a great time getting some ME time in and it really feels good to have some finished layouts for my own albums. This layout was created using the February sketch for Project 12 at Scrapbook and Cards Today. It really fits these photos well and I am pleased with the way this turned out!

This layout is of my good friend, Peggy's daughter, Maggie! She is so darned cute and I love to scrap her every chance I can get! It is fun scrapping girl pages and a nice change from all the masculine pages I have to create! For this layout, I was able to use up some really old papers from Around the Block. Seems I have had this paper in my stash for about 5 years!!!! I will be sending this layout to Peggy this week, and I hope she will find it a welcome addition to her daughter's album.

Revamped my Scrapbook Room

So much has been going on with me, and just before Christmas, I decided that in order to get back to basics, my scraproom needed some attention and reorganizing.

I used to have a hutch on the counter top, which just wasn't
practical for me anymore. It had shelves and was quite nice, but it really didn't give me enough storage place for my ever growing supplies.

I had some of the cubes before, that I had purchased at Michael's, and they went on sale again, so I went out and got some more. After getting them home and putting them together, I was able to get them all on the counter in an orderly fashion, that I am truly happy with.

Everything has a place now, and I am so easily able to find what I am looking for, and clean up is a breeze after a day of creating!
Because my room is better organized, I have found that I am able to be more productive and have already found the creative juices flowing since the beginning of February. After a creative jump, cleaning up my room is a cinch too! Lots of things get pulled out, but I am able to keep it tidied up after each creative session. This works well for me, because I really don't like to have to go and clean up before being able to create again. It has really allowed me to find "me" time again, along with working on my classes, my kits and doing pages for others. I love to create and am so grateful for being able to have this personal space in my home! What more could a girl ask for?

My JUNGLE gals......

I am so happy that my JUNGLE gals are all getting back together again! I have so missed everyone being in the same place at the same time and being able to keep up to date what has been going on with everyone. Since the closing of the JUNGLE, I have managed to keep up to date with some gals, but not really the way I have wanted to. I miss all the chatter, the daily laughter and of course the inspiration we all gave to one another.

I am so glad that we have all finally found a place to gather, challenge each other and most of all keep in touch with one another. I have been having a blast getting re-acquainted with everyone, hearing all about what has been going on in each other's lives and seeing what everyone has been working on (even though most haven't worked on anything in a long time) We are about to change that....so let the creating begin!!!!

Peggy and I have challenged each other in February and both of us have managed to get 3 layouts completed. It felt so good to be 'pushed' to get back to doing what I absolutely LOVE to do and to be doing it just for ME again, has been a blast! I can't wait to continue scrapping with all of you and look forward to getting to see what you all accomplish too!

Life got out of control

Well, it certainly has been a very long time since I last posted anything to my blog, and for this I am truly sorry. The year of 2009 got quite busy, and therefore I have not been able to get online as much as I would like, and of course, that meant not updating my blog very often.

Scrapping on a personal note, took a back seat and without having much creating time in, I didn't have anything really to share with anyone here. This year, I have set a goal for myself to MAKE time to scrap for my own personal albums. The new year has already started off on a good note for this, and I am so excited to be creating for myself again. Of course, I am still teaching classes regularly at the Memory Keeper, but am now able to better balance both classes and personal scrapping again.

The new year has also given me an opportunity to find a new scrap booking site to visit, and they have really been a great help in getting me motivated and inspired! This new site is http://www.scraptures.ca/. You should stop by and check them out if you are in Ontario! Denise and the rest of the gals there have been so nice in welcoming me to their community and they have inspired me in depth. I have had fun participating in some of their challenges and I even won the February Challenge. I was so happy just to be creating for me again, and here I won a prize! It was a shock, but I am very excited and can't wait to see what goodies will be arriving on my door step soon. Thanks to all the gals at SCRAPTURES for all the fun, the great challenges and all the fun!!! You gals are GREAT!

I have already surpassed the amount of personal creating I have done in the past 2 years, just by being inspired by these gals! I can't tell you how much fun I have been having creating layouts and cards since February! I am on a roll, and I intend to keep it up!

Another week, another project

Well another week is gone, some creating has gotten done, yard work has now been started, class creations are plentiful and today the sun is shining. It is a welcome sight, as it has been a very long and exhausting week, and I am just hopeful that next week will fair better than this one.

I have been having some computer issues, and am now in the process of trying to retrieve/recover my files from that computer. I am holding out some hope that this will be possible, as I have photos that I was in the process of backing up on there, along with all of my scans of layouts/class projects that I have done over time.

I had plans to give myself this week to do some much needed/wanted scrapping for me, but since I don't have complete access to my photos/files at the moment, I had decided that my creative time should not be wasted.

I still have so many scraps of both card stock and pattern papers that I need to use in my stash, so I decided it was time to make some more cards. This card holder and card set is a perfect project for using up all kinds of left overs in your stash. This one is done using a Christmas theme, which I have done in the past, but could easily be done for note cards, thank you cards, birthday cards, or all occasion cards.

The possibilities are endless for this project by just changing the colours, the patterns, and the theme. This would make a great end of year gift for a teacher with all occasion cards in it, wonderful gift for a bridal shower with thank you cards in it, or even just to have at home for yourself as a means to keep all of your cards organized and easy to find.

Spring has Sprung

Even though the sky is grey, the air damp and the ground is wet, I found my sign that SPRING has definitely arrived! I went into the garden today to check things out and try to do a bit of clean up, but wasn't very successful as the ground is just too wet and soggy to be walking all over it right now. What I did find though, was my own little rays of sunshine, my natural sign that Spring is here with us, even if it doesn't quite feel like it!

I love this time of year, when everything starts to bud. It gives a sense of all that will be new and leaves me hopeful for warmer temperatures and sunshine! I love the vast array of colours that come with Spring and can't help but find lots of inspiration right in my own backyard.

With Spring's arrival, it means new beginnings, not only in nature, but in myself as well. I have set goals for myself this year, and with self determination and probably some hard work, I will do my best to reach those goals. There are so many things that I would like to change, and now is the time to really start working on it. It is a time to get back more time for all the things that I like to do, and find a certain balance with everything. I am itching to get outdoors and spend some time in the garden, where I can be closer with nature, and reflect about all the things that are important.

Eighteen years ago the world lost one of its most beautiful people. Marc was an extraordinary individual with the most amazing talent. A true showman, always giving everyone the best performance - a powerful voice that could send shivers down your spine and bring tears to your eyes, and a sparkling personality.

Marc had a great passion for life and such a renewed energy, that one could not help but feed off the vibes when you were in his presence. He never gave up, always pushed to be better, and was a true inspiration to anyone that met him.

He touched so many with his voice, opened up our eyes about such things as the condition of the environment, of which he was very passionate about, and he had such a way about him to make you feel ever so special when in his presence. Everyone was important to him, even if you only had the opportunity to talk to him for just one moment. Those small moments, are to last a life time. I know they certainly do for me!

These cards were created using just left over supplies and scraps (which we all seem to accumulate quickly) There isn't anything overly fancy about these cards, but they gave me a way to create, use up supplies and get some creating done. I am happy with the way they turned out though, and I hope they will inspire you!

This one is quite simple and I just used left over stickers! Inside I put a Goofy sticker and some added flowers.

Although the sun has been shining and I have been itching to get into my garden, the air is still a bit too chilly for me! Instead, I have been busy creating. Working hard on staying ahead with my class projects and yet still trying to get a few things done for me. I have made some cards that I still have to scan so I can upload, and I will doing that shortly.

I am just about done with all of my MAY classes, which I am hoping will be done today, and then it will be time to get ready to work on those JUNE classes!

Well another week is over, and here I am posting! I really have to get better at finding things to post about more frequently, but when life isn't overly exciting, it makes it hard to find things to write about:)

Anyways, I have been scrapping again, and having a blast! It feels so good to get some pages done for me, that I just have to share my newest projects with everyone here.

These are photos of Colin James while he was performing at the Milton Escarpment Bluesfest in July 2007. He is absolutely on the top of my list of Canadian Boys who kick Butt!

Where does the time go......

Wow, I honestly can't believe that it has been almost a month again, since I last updated my blog.

Time has a real way of slipping away from me lately and I just don't seem to find much time to post here.

I have been so busy with creating pages for others and for my classes, that I seemed to have gotten lost in my own little world. Although I am still doing both of these things, I have made a commitment with a friend, to try and scrap for me again. She challenged me to create a layout for my own album (with photos on it) and she gave me a week to do it. My week got so busy, that I didn't start the page until today (Saturday), but I managed to get it finished, along with a secondary page to go with it. I am very pleased with the way these pages turned out, so I thought that I would share them here with you. It certainly feels GREAT to get some pages done for my own album again. At first I really struggled with it, and I even joked around, saying "I think I forgot how to scrapbook with photos!" I am so grateful to PEGGY for challenging me and getting me back on the cutting edge of what this hobby is all about! Thanks bunches girl!

Now, it is my intention to actually keep up with this creating for ME! I hope to have something new to share with you on a more regular basis, so please keep visiting my blog to see what I have been up to!

Well the weekend is over....

Well here we are, Sunday evening and the weekend is just about over. It has been quite busy around here, but then again, that really isn't anything new. I had a great visit with a friend on Friday, and we spent the afternoon in my scrap room, which was a lot of fun. I worked on my March classes and because I was motivated and inspired, I continued with that over the rest of the weekend. In all, I have 3 ready to go and am planning out a couple of more.

Saturday was the usual, with running of errands and house cleaning. Once that was done, it was back to the scrap room to more creating. I managed to get a few cards made using up more of my scraps, worked on another class layout for March and worked on a couple of layouts for a friend.
I will have to get the cards scanned or photographed, and I will share those some time this week.

My scraps have gotten out of control, and I have decided that I needed to use them up before I was going to start creating anymore layouts for my albums. (where we all know would just create even more scraps) My goal is to have used enough scraps by the end of February that I can actually then think about working with my photos and creating pages for my own albums again. (this will be nice, as it has been way too long) Of course, once I have created anything new, I will be sharing it here with all of you.

So much time has passed.....

Well, it certainly has been a long time since I have posted on my blog, and for that, I do apologize to everyone. This past year has been extremely busy and life just seemed to get in the way of all my computer time and keeping everyone up to date with what I have been up to. Life has changed in many different ways in the past year here for us. Thomas, my youngest has moved out into his own apartment and his older brother has moved back in for a while. After James finished attending Toronto Film School, he felt the need to come home in order to save more money, pay off his student loan and save towards the next step in his future. He has now applied to AFI (American Film Institute) and is awaiting to hear whether or not he has been accepted. He hopes to hear something by mid-April. If he is accepted, he will be leaving to live in Los Angeles, California by summer's end. In the meantime, he is working full time and still pursuing his short films. He is also now the Development Manager for Raindance Canada. In the past year, he has had 2 short films screened at the Cannes Film Festival in Nice, France, Big Bear Film Festival in Big Bear, California, has made 4 trips to L.A. for various reasons and meetings, and just most recently attended the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. He had a volunteer position there and made some contacts that seem hopeful to his future.

I have not been finding much time to get on the computer like I once did, and I certainly do hope to see some changes in this area now that a new year has started. It is my intentions to get back to "basics" and set some time aside for the computer, scrapping for my own albums, and for keeping in touch with all of my friends. I do hope to also share with you my newest creations here as I get them done. I have had enough down time with scrapping, that it is definitely time to get back in the creative mode. I have still been doing my classes, but for the most part, just wasn't too inspired to work on anything for my own albums. This is about to change!

Today will be busy

Well the weekend has come and gone, and most of my plans went right on by too. I had plans to scrap the weekend away and have some new stuff to share with everyone, but for some reason (ok, many reasons), that didn't happen quite the way I wanted it to.

I was in my scraproom with the best intentions, and yes, I did manage to put together a 2 page spread that I will share with you all at the end of this post, but that was the end of the creating!
As I was working on this page (that I started late last week), I realized how much my room needs to get cleaned up and organized again. It was crazy trying to find the items that I knew I had, that I wanted to use on this layout.

Today I am going to be busy working on getting this straightened up once and for all. I got a little taste of creating, and now don't want to stop again. I have many ideas floating around in my head, so now it is a necessity to get this room fixed up so that nothing will hault my creative juices.

Hopefully it won't be too long to get things in order, but I will share new revamped photos of my room on here once I get this done. (and before I make a mess again)

Sunday, March 2, 2008 was a very sad day for Canada and the world. Jeff Healey passed away after losing his battle with cancer. An amazing talent who touched anyone that ever met him or had the fortunate experience to see him perform live. He was undeniably one of the very best in his field and had a style that was uniquely his own.

FINALLY...I AM BACK

Well it certainly has been a long time since I was able to actually sit and update my blog, but here I am! The past 6 months have been extremely busy and at times, very difficult for our family. I have not been able to get on the computer very much to keep up with anything and scrapping took a major back seat during all of this time.

I am really hoping that as time goes on, I will find more time to devote to keeping up with my blog, scrap more and visit some of my favourite places on the net. I so miss seeing everyone and keeping up with what is going on in everyone's lives. So much has been going on and I am still catching up on the message boards, but bare with me, I shall get better at all of this.

Today I actually scrapped a layout!!! Peggy pretty much ordered me to get back to scrapping, and even supplied me with the beautiful photo of her daughter, Maggie. This little girl sends out so much inspiration to me, and here is what I came up with: THANKS FOR LOOKING!

Happy Halloween

I hope that everyone had a Happy Halloween with their families! Last night was a lot of fun and although I don't have young children of trick or treating age anymore, I still like to dress up when I am handing out the candies! We had less than 50 kids come to the door, but I had fun watching the kids go door to door.

Here are some fun photos of me as a black cat in a pumpkin. A very simple costume, but it was a lot of fun to see the kids faces as they came up to the porch to get their treats! They were delighted that I was in a costume too!

We saw some scary costumes, but for the most part, the kids all dressed up as cute little princesses, spiderman, bears and pirates. I just love seeing the different costumes and the looks on all of the kids faces when they look around and see the decorations and the other kids in costumes.

All in all, it was a really fun evening!
