Review of last month

Today we have been challenged by Di at http://treasurestoscrap.com to ROUND UP February, so here is my post:

What books and/or magazines did I read this month?

This month was a long and cold one for us here in Ontario. We got our first snow storm of the season on Valentine's day, so it left lots of time for reading! I read Diary of Anne Frank, Phantoms by Dean Koontz and a genealogy book for the area where my Great Grandparents lived and raised their children.

What movies and/or tv shows did I watch this month?

Tv is relatively the same around her on a regular basis. (providing that the shows are aired)
Among the shows that are regulars in our house are:
CSI Miami, NCIS, HOUSE, Bones, Criminal Minds, CSI NY, CSI, Vegas, Numbers, Crossing Jordan and Without a Trace. Other than that there is usually sports on, which I don't really watch too often, but is a big thing with dad and dear hubby. When they are busy with sports, I just take the extra opportunity to get caught up on the computer or in my scraproom creating.
Movies--geesh, this month kind of flew by and we didn't watch too many movies at all. This is actually something that is becoming to be a bigger reality than I care to admit.
We did manage to watch Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead Man's chest though. And although not a movie, we did watch Billy Joel, Live at Yankee Stadium and 54/40's That was then, this is NOW, concert DVDs.

What special days did I celebrate and how?

This month is chalked full of celebrations for us. First there is Valentine's day, which was quiet this year. We really didn't do anything special because we were hit with the first snow storm of the season and Rob had to work that evening. He did bring me a beautiful bouquet of spring time flowers though.
Valentine's day is also my nieces birthday and she turned 17 this year. We didn't get to see her though.
My birthday was on the 19th, and we started the celebrations a day early. We attended a Colin James concert the night before, and it was amazing! On my actual birthday, the day was simple and quiet. Rob took me out for shopping and lunch, which was very nice. Celebrations are a little bit less now a days with the boys not being home regularly.
A week later, on the 26th, was my Dad's 72nd birthday. We didn't do anything overly special this day for him, as his legs were hurting and he didn't want to go out. I just cooked him a nice dinner and spent most of the day with him.

What gifts did I give and/or receive?

Well the month started with me sending out a box full of goodies to my dear friend Peggy! It was a double birthday present for her, as she totally deserved to get some great new stuff to play with. I am so happy that she has already used some of those goodies too!
For my birthday, I received a shopping trip and lunch. From the shopping trip, I got some new CDs and new scrapping goodies!
We gave my dad some DVDs.

What illnesses or health concerns did I have?

Thankfully I had no illnesses or health concerns this month. I am really glad that I managed to get through this winter with little to no illness. Usually I catch pnemonia, so I am more than pleased this year!

What fun things did I do with my friends and/or family?

Attending the Colin James concert with Rob and going shopping on my birthday was all the fun we had this month.

What new foods, recipes or restaurants did I try this month?
We don't really go to restaurants all that often, so we didn't try anything new this month. I didn't even try any new recipes either. Seems that maybe I have found myself caught in a bit of a rutt and am going to have to see what I can do to change that.

What special or unusual purchases did I make?

I don't think there was any special or unusual purchases made this month. We just bought general things that were needed for the house. I did get some new scrap goodies, but nothing unusual there!

What were this month's disappointments?

This month was a bit more disappointing than most. I was a member at an online community that I thought was going to be a lot of fun to be at, and it just turned out to not be right for me. Too much going on behind the scenes that I was not very comfortable with, so I had to move forward.
I didn't get to spend my birthday with my boys, but that is something I am still trying to get used to now that they are MEN and not home.
I tried out for a DT and didn't make it, and that was a disappointment, but not a surprise.

What were my accomplishments this month?

This month was full of great accomplishments, both in general life and in my scrapping world. I managed to get 26 layouts and 5 cards created, and let me tell you......it felt GREAT! Thanks to the gals at http://treasurestoscrap.com for a wonderful game that was full of SUPER inspiration! Without them , I probably wouldn't have gotten that many done. I also managed to get my blog updated and changed a little bit, and I am liking it so much. I have accomplished meeting a personal goal of being more active, and have been riding the exercise bike on a more regular basis. In daily life, I managed to purge my kitchen cabinets and linens and took a lot of things to be donated. We also got an old bed out of the house, and now we can move around here again.

Anything else noteworthy to record?

This month I have managed to hook up with some new online friends who have taught me so much and are just a great source of inspiration to me.
I have been reorganizing my scraproom, yet again, and trying to get things where I can truly be happy with the way they are set up. I realize that it is an on going project that will probably never be finished, but I keep hoping.
Will be backing up some photos this week to disc, and cleaning up some folders on my computer desktop.

That is about all for now!
