Happy Halloween
I hope that everyone had a Happy Halloween with their families! Last night was a lot of fun and although I don't have young children of trick or treating age anymore, I still like to dress up when I am handing out the candies! We had less than 50 kids come to the door, but I had fun watching the kids go door to door.
Here are some fun photos of me as a black cat in a pumpkin. A very simple costume, but it was a lot of fun to see the kids faces as they came up to the porch to get their treats! They were delighted that I was in a costume too!
We saw some scary costumes, but for the most part, the kids all dressed up as cute little princesses, spiderman, bears and pirates. I just love seeing the different costumes and the looks on all of the kids faces when they look around and see the decorations and the other kids in costumes.
All in all, it was a really fun evening!

Get ready for some fun!!!!!

Long time......
The past several months have been quite hectic within our family and my online time certainly was the last thing on my list of things to do.
Sadly my FIL passed away on September 3 after a very long battle with cancer, and it really took it's toll on the family. The months before his death, our time was filled with running him to appointments, taking care of him and helping my MIL tend to things around the house. I was so exhausted and my mind was on overload. I didn't get much creating done and I didn't find too much time for keeping my blog updated, so I am sorry.
Now that life is starting to get back to normal, I will be updating here more often. I do hope that you all still will stop by and take a look. I know that I have to get back to keeping up to date with all of you as well.
A HEADS UP.........November and December are looking to be a lot of fun at www.treasurestoscrap.com.
Come on over and take a look around, let us know that you have stopped by, and get ready for some fun over the next couple of months!!!! Watch for an update here in the next week.

Toot!!!!
I have had 11 of my layouts picked up by http://www.3bugsinarug.com/index.asp for their Idea Gallery. In submitting my work there, I have entered a chance to be in their newsletter for the month of April. They had a call out for General Scrap Challenge and a sketch challenge through their newsletter, so I took a chance and uploaded! I am now waiting for the April newsletter to be released to see who the lucky person is!
Yesterday was such a good day for me! I came to check my email before checking out the message boards and I found out that one of my layouts will be published at http://scrapstreet.com (in their online magazine).
It was such a good piece of news to come online to see. I can't wait until the May Issue is out!!!!
I have also been playing a game there this month, and here is one of my layouts that I created for one of the challenges:
I love the papers from http://www.3bugsinarug.com/index.asp. They are all so fun to work with and really help to stretch those creative juices. Unfortunately, this layout can't be shared anywhere else until the game at http://scrapstreet.com is over, but I still wanted to share it here with you all on my blog!
If you have stopped by to see what has been going on with me, why not post a HELLO to me and let me know that you were here! I love to hear from you all!

OK, here goes:
1. I dislike disorganization and clutter! I am constantly reorganizing everything, from kitchen cabinets and closets to my scraproom. I try and keep things cleaned out so that there is always space for everything that is needed.
2. I don't like to be in a quiet house, although I yearn for quiet time.
3. I love working in my garden, although I have major allergies.
4. I don't drive, but sometimes wish that I did.
5. I always thought it would be good when the kids got older and moved out of the house (which one has now), but now I wish I could keep them little and at home with me. I don't know how I will like it once the youngest isn't home anymore.
6. I am thinking of venturing to selling some kits through my blog, but that is a big step and something I have to be certain to have the time for.
7. I am patiently waiting for May 16th, so I can attend the Rod Stewart concert here in town.
So, now… 7 people get to play along, I choose… Peggy, Julie, Terry, Susan, Diana, Charlee, and Joanne!! Can’t wait to read what your seven “things” are!!

TOOT!!!!
I have been having a blast also working with 3Bugs products lately. These papers have the most amazing colour combinations and I just love the newest lines with the double sided papers. The patterns all go so very well together, and the colours are so much fun.
So far this month, I have done 9 new layouts using the 3Bugs products. They really are inspirational and I am so happy with the end results.
Here are a couple of my newest layouts:
This SNOW BUNNY layout was created using my friend, Peggy's photo! I will be sending her this layout of her darling daughter, Maggie!! The photo was the perfect inspiration for this layout that I created for the GDT challenge that I posted at http://treasurestoscrap.com. I have challenged everyone that is playing the March game, to create a layout, using shapes in a non traditional manner. (for something that they truly are not) In this cute example, I have used all hearts to create this little bunny. The hat and mittens are from the Sizzix doll clothing, and were the perfect fit for this theme!!! Thanks Peggy for allowing me the privilege to scrap this sweet photo!!!
I would like to extend this challenge to anyone that is reading this. If you create a layout based on my challenge, I would love to see you come back here and let me know and link me up to where I can see this!!!! Have fun, and I can't wait to see what you will create!!!

Don't forget that when you are over there, to take a look at the DO YOU FEEL LUCKY March game. YOU could be the next Guest DT there!
Thanks so much to Crazy T and her wonderful team for getting me back on track with my scrapping!!! (and I got some great pages created for my albums) It doesn't get any better than that!!!!
A Fun project!

Has been a good week
This weekend really hasn't been eventful, but has been a productive one! I have been busy cleaning through the house, and reorganizing my scraproom, yet again! It seems that this is a never ending story! Since I moved into James' room, I haven't really gotten everything set up the way I would like to. It is a big job, and I really didn't feel like constantly organizing everything. I wanted to find time to create too! That is the hardest part for me! If I continue to organize so that I finally can be finished with it (ok, if there is such a thing), then I wouldn't find time to actually be creative and use all those products that I am trying to organize...so then what would be the real point there?!!!
Last weekend, it was organizing the flowers and sorting through scraps of papers. Today's projects was organizing all of the smaller embellishments. This was quite the task, and I am still not completely done yet! I did manage to get all of the buttons, brads and metal embellishments all done though. Man, I have accumulated so much of those things! I just about croaked when I saw the stash of stuff that I had to do something with!
I think for the most part, I am done all I really can do at this point though. I think if I had cabinets on the wall, it might make a bit of difference, but I am happy with what I have done now. At least I am able to go up and vaccum through the room and now take some time off to create again!
So be on the look out for more creations being shared next week! I am sure there will be some along the way.

Review of last month
What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
This month was a long and cold one for us here in Ontario. We got our first snow storm of the season on Valentine's day, so it left lots of time for reading! I read Diary of Anne Frank, Phantoms by Dean Koontz and a genealogy book for the area where my Great Grandparents lived and raised their children.
What movies and/or tv shows did I watch this month?
Tv is relatively the same around her on a regular basis. (providing that the shows are aired)
Among the shows that are regulars in our house are:
CSI Miami, NCIS, HOUSE, Bones, Criminal Minds, CSI NY, CSI, Vegas, Numbers, Crossing Jordan and Without a Trace. Other than that there is usually sports on, which I don't really watch too often, but is a big thing with dad and dear hubby. When they are busy with sports, I just take the extra opportunity to get caught up on the computer or in my scraproom creating.
Movies--geesh, this month kind of flew by and we didn't watch too many movies at all. This is actually something that is becoming to be a bigger reality than I care to admit.
We did manage to watch Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead Man's chest though. And although not a movie, we did watch Billy Joel, Live at Yankee Stadium and 54/40's That was then, this is NOW, concert DVDs.
What special days did I celebrate and how?
This month is chalked full of celebrations for us. First there is Valentine's day, which was quiet this year. We really didn't do anything special because we were hit with the first snow storm of the season and Rob had to work that evening. He did bring me a beautiful bouquet of spring time flowers though.
Valentine's day is also my nieces birthday and she turned 17 this year. We didn't get to see her though.
My birthday was on the 19th, and we started the celebrations a day early. We attended a Colin James concert the night before, and it was amazing! On my actual birthday, the day was simple and quiet. Rob took me out for shopping and lunch, which was very nice. Celebrations are a little bit less now a days with the boys not being home regularly.
A week later, on the 26th, was my Dad's 72nd birthday. We didn't do anything overly special this day for him, as his legs were hurting and he didn't want to go out. I just cooked him a nice dinner and spent most of the day with him.
What gifts did I give and/or receive?
Well the month started with me sending out a box full of goodies to my dear friend Peggy! It was a double birthday present for her, as she totally deserved to get some great new stuff to play with. I am so happy that she has already used some of those goodies too!
For my birthday, I received a shopping trip and lunch. From the shopping trip, I got some new CDs and new scrapping goodies!
We gave my dad some DVDs.
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
Thankfully I had no illnesses or health concerns this month. I am really glad that I managed to get through this winter with little to no illness. Usually I catch pnemonia, so I am more than pleased this year!
What fun things did I do with my friends and/or family?
Attending the Colin James concert with Rob and going shopping on my birthday was all the fun we had this month.
What new foods, recipes or restaurants did I try this month?
We don't really go to restaurants all that often, so we didn't try anything new this month. I didn't even try any new recipes either. Seems that maybe I have found myself caught in a bit of a rutt and am going to have to see what I can do to change that.
What special or unusual purchases did I make?
I don't think there was any special or unusual purchases made this month. We just bought general things that were needed for the house. I did get some new scrap goodies, but nothing unusual there!
What were this month's disappointments?
This month was a bit more disappointing than most. I was a member at an online community that I thought was going to be a lot of fun to be at, and it just turned out to not be right for me. Too much going on behind the scenes that I was not very comfortable with, so I had to move forward.
I didn't get to spend my birthday with my boys, but that is something I am still trying to get used to now that they are MEN and not home.
I tried out for a DT and didn't make it, and that was a disappointment, but not a surprise.
What were my accomplishments this month?
This month was full of great accomplishments, both in general life and in my scrapping world. I managed to get 26 layouts and 5 cards created, and let me tell you......it felt GREAT! Thanks to the gals at http://treasurestoscrap.com for a wonderful game that was full of SUPER inspiration! Without them , I probably wouldn't have gotten that many done. I also managed to get my blog updated and changed a little bit, and I am liking it so much. I have accomplished meeting a personal goal of being more active, and have been riding the exercise bike on a more regular basis. In daily life, I managed to purge my kitchen cabinets and linens and took a lot of things to be donated. We also got an old bed out of the house, and now we can move around here again.
Anything else noteworthy to record?
This month I have managed to hook up with some new online friends who have taught me so much and are just a great source of inspiration to me.
I have been reorganizing my scraproom, yet again, and trying to get things where I can truly be happy with the way they are set up. I realize that it is an on going project that will probably never be finished, but I keep hoping.
Will be backing up some photos this week to disc, and cleaning up some folders on my computer desktop.
That is about all for now!

Feeling sluggish.......
Mother Nature finally decided that we indeed needed to have winter weather, and we have been under freezing conditions for about 2 weeks now. Not much in the way of snow, but I tell you, the cold temps are just unacceptable! I figure that if we haven't had winter by now, then we certainly just don't need it. (guess that is why I am NOT Mother Nature) :)
Due to this frequent changes in temperatures, I have been feeling mighty sluggish, and have been suffering with migraines again. This has really begun to cramp my creativity, but I am trying to get back on board. I have managed to get some layouts done this month, which I am feeling pretty good about, but I do need to finish up with my class layouts as well.
My FIL has been in the hospital as well for the past 2 weeks, and well, finally is doing much better. This has all been playing with my emotions and of course, I have been trying to keep things going at home while we all deal with those matters. Before Christmas he had his bladder removed, due to cancer, and had been experiencing some difficulties having a bowel movement, and was full of pain in the stomach. He ended up in the ER, where they did an emergency surgery to have part of his intestines removed. He is now, thankfully, building up strength, and is allowed to have some solid foods back in his diet. We are still praying that he will be able to come home some time this week. His birthday is tomorrow, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!
Too much going on all at once.....between hospital visits and sluggish weather.....well that is my time in a nutshell. Hopefully things will improve the rest of the week and I will have something more exciting to post!!!

Your Birthday Can Tell A Lot About Who You Are
Now don't forget to go and check out what your birth date means!!!!
Here are MY results:
Your Birthdate: February 19 |
You are resilient, and no doubt your resilience has already been tested. You've had some difficult experiences in your life, but you are wise from them. Having had to grow up quickly, you tend to discount the advice of others. You tend to be a loner, having learned that the only person you can depend on is yourself. Your strength: Well developed stability and confidence Your weakness: Suspicion of others Your power color: Eggplant Your power symbol: Spade Your power month: October |

I remembered:)
Well as many of you already know, I haven't scrapped any layouts for myself since the end of October. I know, bad huh? Well, I finally got some time today to get right to work in my scraproom, and let me tell you, it sure did feel GREAT!
I really remembered how much fun it can be to work on something for yourself and to make a mess.
Oh MY WORD......my poor scraproom......what a MESS! But you know, it is all worth it knowing that I managed to get 4 layouts...that's right, count them......1-2-3-4. DONE!!!! WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Now that I got a little taste of what it is like to just be as creative as you can in the moment, you can bank on the fact that I will be working on something again tomorrow!
Until then....happy looking!

ScrapthatMoment
Well as CHA vastly approaches, I must tell you all that I, for one, can't wait to see all of the new products in person. Amongst some of these marvelous NEW products is a new line by Scrappy Chick that I think everyone needs to be keeping their eyes open for.
This new line comes to us all from the wonderful gals at Scrapthatmoment, which is my new found home, since the Scrapbook Jungle closed it's doors on us.
This site is simply a great place to hang out and I tell you all, the inspiration is out of this world. Not one day goes by that you will not find the most wonderful pieces of art in the gallery, and although I haven't scrapped much for myself in the past couple of months, I feel inspired!!!
You all have to take a look at these new papers and the wonderful SNEAK PEEKS that we have been given. Go to http://www.scrapthatmoment.com/gallery/index.php and check out the newest products...never to be seen before! You won't be sorry you stopped by!

Yes, I am ALIVE!!
I must say that keeping up with this thing, isn't as easy as I thought it might be. It seems that life has gotten away from me lately (ok, since mid November, but who's counting) :) It just seems that so much has been going on in our lives and in the house, that I just haven't had as much time as I would have liked to sit and post here so you all had something to read;)
Since I last posted we have been quite busy.
Here's the list:
Renovated the bathroom
Prepared for Christmas
Made all my Christmas presents
slowly tried to recover from the holidays
taught classes at the LSS
Got James moved to Mississauga:(
Started to prepare for February classes (ok.....just came up with the list of the classes, no real prep done, YET)
Purged the house (lots of stuff not in use and therefore were donated)
Lost my JUNGLE home, but found a new one at www.scrapthatmoment.com)
AND
Now we are talking about redecorating the bedroom....so this will be something else keeping me busy in the weeks to come
So now that you know what I have been up to as of late, I hope that I didn't bore you all too much.
Now I am in dire need of getting my scrapping groove back, or at least started. I more or less got into creative burn out after creating all of my Christmas gift items, but I am thinking that enough time has been let to slip by and I need to get back into the groove.
Shirley tried to motivate me by challenging me to do a 2 page spread last week, and I failed this challenge. I am still trying to get used to the idea that James has moved to Mississauga and that Tom isn't home most of the time. The empty nest syndrome is worse than I thought it ever could be........gotta get me out of this slump for sure.
Now Peggy has challenged me to get a layout done by Thursday, with the promise that, she, too, will get one done. Let's hope that I will NOT fail this challenge too!
Let's see what I can come up with:)
